World Chess
Spectator Sports in United Kingdom
Overview
World Chess (LSE: CHSS) was founded in 2012 to build chess into a mainstream spectator sport. We are the official commercial partner of FIDE, the International Chess Federation, and operate across three interconnected verticals: platform, broadcast, and live events.
Our platform, worldchess.com, serves over one million registered users and is FIDE's official online home for competitive chess. Our broadcast arm, the World Chess Show, distributes to 50+ markets globally in a magazine format built for casual fans — not just hardcore followers of competitive chess. Our live events division has produced World Championship matches in New York and London, and introduced the Armageddon tiebreak format now standard in elite competition.
