Villa San Michele, A Belmond Hotel

Located in the Fiesole hills, Villa San Michele, A Belmond Hotel, Florence is an emblem of Italian Renaissance with a façade attributed to the School of Michelangelo and its surrounding woodlands, where Leonardo Da Vinci first attempted to fly. Housed in a 15th-Century monastery, the hotel is brought to life by ancient frescoes, sweeping views of the city, and cascading gardens. Its 42 rooms and suites are located in the historical building and the terraced gardens, each with distinctive styles and unparalleled views. The three restaurants and two bars offer an array of culinary experiences - La Loggia di Villa San Michele for fine-dining, celebrating Tuscan heritage with carefully researched innovation; Ristorante San Michele presents classical Italian dishes with a twist; while the San Michele Grill serves Mediterranean dishes and Neapolitan-style pizzas by the pool. The panoramic heated swimming pool is located at the hotel’s highest plateau, allowing for views of the 2.5 hectares of woodland and iconic wisteria. In 2022, the hotel was given a contemporary twist, with the permanent installation of Window & Ladder by Argentinian artist Leandro Erlich, perfectly framing the city’s skyline and paying homage to the hotel’s exceptional location. With daily complimentary shuttles to Florence, guests can explore the city’s epicentre and retreat to the hotel for serenity and relaxation.
