Van Teknokent Bakanlar Kurulu’nun 27.08.2008 tarih ve 26980 sayılı Resmi gazetede yayımlanarak yürürlüğe giren kararı uyarınca 2012 yılında kurulmuş ve 2013 yılında faaliyetlerine başlamıştır. Van ilindeki tek teknoloji geliştirme bölgesi olan Van Teknokent, Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi sınırları içinde Teknoloji Geliştirme Bölgesi olarak ayrılan alan içerisinde yer alan binada hizmet vermektedir.Van Teknokent’in toplam alanı 220 dönüm üzerinde 3450 m2 kapalı alana sahip idari ve kuluçka binası yaptırılmıştır.
