“Nuninda-an eizzaateni, vadarma ekuteni”

The meaning of this sentence in Hittite is: “You will eat your bread, you will drink your water”.

Although it may not seem like a very important phrase, this sentence is the key to deciphering the entire Hittite language. After analyzing this sentence by the Czech scientist Bedřich Hrozný, who analyzed this inscription on a clay tablet found in Hattusha about a hundred years ago, scientists were able to read tens of thousands of tablets and provide very important information about the Anatolian Civilization of thousands of years. The first thing that attracts the attention of those who know foreign languages is how Hittite was the source of modern Indo-European languages. For example, the word "Vadar" meaning "water" in the sentence is equivalent to "Wasser" in German, "water" in English, and "voda" in Slavic languages.
