Federasyonumuz 08.06.2005 tarihli ve 162 sayılı Bakanlık oluru ile kurulmuştur. Türkiye Okul Sporları Federasyonu; 3289 sayılı Gençlik ve Spor Genel Müdürlüğünün Teşkilat ve Görevleri hakkında kanunun ek-9 uncu maddesi başlığında “Bağımsız spor federasyonları” olarak, “özerk” ibareleri “bağımsız” olarak değiştirilmiş, tüzel kişilik kazanmıştır.
Federasyonumuz çalışmalarını, 01 Ekim 2014 ve 29136 sayılı Resmi Gazetede yayınlanan Türkiye Okul Sporları Federasyonu Ana Statüsü ile 19 Temmuz 2012 tarih ve 28658 sayılı Resmi Gazetede yayınlanan Bağımsız Federasyonların Çalışma Usul ve Esasları Hakkında Yönetmelik doğrultusunda yürütmektedir.
Federasyonumuzda, yönetim kurulumuz ve Spor Genel Müdürlüğümüz personeli olan çalışanlarının uyumlu iletişimi sayesinde geleneklerine bağlı bir yapı bulunmaktadır. Mevzuatlara uygun federasyon görevleri yerine getirmektedir.
