The Compass Food Bank & Outreach Centre

The Compass Food Bank & Outreach Centre has been serving south Mississauga since 2002, providing food, support, connection and hope to neighbours experiencing food insecurity, homelessness and other difficult circumstances.

Today, more than 2,000 people turn to The Compass each week for support, and 1 in 3 is a child. In 2025 alone, we distributed more than 954,000 pounds of food and prepared over 84,000 nutritious meals for people in our community.

But The Compass is much more than a food bank.

Our Circle of Care approach recognizes that food insecurity is often connected to other challenges. Along with access to healthy groceries and meals, we help connect people with services, resources and community supports that can help them move toward greater stability and well-being.

At the heart of The Compass is an extraordinary community of 450+ volunteers, dedicated staff, donors, businesses, community organizations and partners who believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion and respect.

Our mission is to foster a safe and caring community that builds relationships and supports human dignity. Everyone is welcome.

As the need for food banks continues to grow, community support has never been more important. There are many ways to make a difference, through financial donations, food donations, volunteering, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, workplace giving and community fundraising.

Together, we can make sure our neighbours in south Mississauga have somewhere to turn when they need help most.
