Tastakel

Tastakel is a women-led organization that focuses on empowering women in politics through workshops in negotiation and more. Our conflict transformation approach is based on dialogue, nonviolence, & empowerment of Syrian women.

We help women become powerful actors in building a more peaceful world through our commitment of creating a suitable atmosphere for the effective participation of women in Syria’s political, social, economic, and cultural spheres. We also work to transform Syrian society by emphasizing freedom, justice, civic engagement, and female empowerment. This includes promoting the presence of women in decision-making at all levels of Syria’s political structures, and by training women to spearhead interfaith dialogue and cross-sectarian engagement.

Tastakel currently operates centers in Syria, Jordan and Turkey, often through collaboration with local schools and teaching centers.
