Sutphen Corporation

Founded in 1890 by C.H. Sutphen, Sutphen Corporation currently stands as the oldest family-owned and operated fire apparatus manufacturer in the United States.

Built on the foundations of family, innovation and service to firefighters and communities around the world, our family-owned organization has been a fire industry staple for over 135 years.

Headquartered in Dublin, Ohio, Sutphen Corporation is currently under the leadership of fifth-generation family president, Shelby Sutphen Chambers, and fourth-generation family vice president, Julie Sutphen Phelps. The two fire industry leaders were preceded by their fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers and continue to lay foundation for the future of Sutphen’s fifth and sixth generation family members.

Building the safest, most reliable fire apparatus in the world through innovation and customer focus has enabled the Sutphen family to become an integral part of not just the fire service community but an intimate piece of frontline, emergency services. Providing local, national and international fire departments with life-saving apparatus, Sutphen Corporation truly knows what it takes to serve its community.

Sutphen: Strong, Stable and Committed to the fire service since 1890.
