SEY Vakfı, 1968 yılından bu yana eğitim alanında faaliyet gösteren Yücel ailesinden, Semra ve Enver Yücel adına çocukları, Hüseyin Yücel, Begüm Yücel tarafından kuruldu.
Eğitimde sürdürülebilir fırsat eşitliği yaratmak ve ihtiyaç duyan herkesin eğitim-öğretimle gelişebilmesine imkan yaratmak hedefiyle yola çıktı.
Vakıf ayrıca, gençlere girişimlerini sunabilecekleri bir platform yaratmak, topluma fayda sağlayan insanları ödüllendirerek iyi örnekleri çoğaltmak amacıyla pek çok faaliyet gerçekleştirmektedir.
