Ülkemizde sinema eseri sahipleri alanında kurulu olan BSB/Belgesel Sinema Eseri Sahipleri Meslek Birliği, Senaryo ve Diyalog Yazarı Sinema Eseri Sahipleri Meslek Birliği/SENARİSTBİR, Sinema ve Televizyon Eseri Sahipleri Meslek Birliği/SETEM ve Sinema Eseri Sahipleri Meslek Birliği/SİNEBİR'in bir araya gelmesi sonucunda; Sinema Eseri Sahipleri Federasyonu (SEF), 5846 sayılı Yasa'nın 42. maddesi ve "Telif Hakları Alanında Meslek Birlikleri Yönetmeliği"nin ilgili hükümleri uyarınca 29.04.2024 tarihinde kurulmuştur. SEF, üyesi meslek birliklerinin sinema eseri sahibi üyelerinin telif haklarını kollektif bir şekilde korumak, 5846 sayılı Yasa ile tanınan haklarının idaresi ile ulusal ve uluslararası alanda tüm telif haklarını takip, tahsil ve dağıtımı amacıyla faaliyet göstermektedir. SEF, uluslararası eser sahibi meslek birlikleri konfederasyonu CISAC (International Confederation Of Societies of Authors And Composers) üyesidir.
