Our know-how stems from Iceland’s history, the North Atlantic Ocean that hammers Iceland’s shorelines has historically been the country’s primary source of income. Rafnar Maritime was founded in 2005 to develop a unique hull-and-keel design capable of significantly reducing wave slamming and providing better seakeeping performance. Development of the hull took 10 years and involved extensive cooperation with the Icelandic Coast Guard and Icelandic Search and Rescue Association.

Their experience in offshore boating operations proved essential in trials and testing throughout the development and prototyping phase. Rafnar first began introducing its concept outside of Iceland in 2016 and has been received extremely positively by professional, leisure, and tactical users alike.
