Plessey Semiconductors Ltd

Plessey designs and manufactures advanced photonic technologies shaping the future of computing.

With more than 70 years of expertise in semiconductors and photonics, we bring together research, IP, materials, process engineering and manufacturing in one integrated operation, giving us the control, speed and technical depth to take complex technologies from concept through to scale.

Our heritage is in world-leading microLED display technology for AR, MR and next-generation wearables. Building on that deep expertise, Plessey is now pioneering optical interconnects for AI infrastructure and high-performance computing — applying the same underlying platform, IP and manufacturing capability to the challenge of moving data faster, with lower power and greater efficiency.

We work across the full development cycle, from materials and device design through to integration, test and volume manufacturing, and are trusted by leading global technology companies to solve demanding optical engineering challenges.

We are continuing to grow across Plymouth and Oxford, investing in the people, technology and manufacturing capability needed for what comes next.
