Plasfer

Plasfer is a preclinical-stage platform biotech and a spin-off of the University of Perugia (Italy). We have developed a proprietary technology that loads platelets ex vivo with a selected payload, turning them into programmable delivery vehicles that carry and release their cargo where it is needed.

From this single platform we are advancing two programmes:

Oncology — our lead programme uses loaded platelets to deliver therapeutic payloads directly to tumour tissue, exploiting the natural interaction between platelets and cancer. Preclinical in vivo data support the approach.

Regenerative medicine (PLA-REGEN) — an enhanced platelet-rich plasma (PRP) with a controlled, standardised and reproducible biological output, addressing the donor-to-donor variability that limits conventional PRP. The programme is payload-agnostic, working both with already-approved molecules — such as hyaluronic acid, proteins and small molecules — and with mRNA-encoded regenerative factors, across wound healing, orthopaedics, aesthetics and ophthalmology.

Backed by a granted European patent and supported by preclinical data, Plasfer is building on one platform to address two large and distinct areas of unmet need.
