La PIROPS est une Plateforme d'Intervention Régionale (PIR) pour la zone Océan Pacifique Sud, basée en Nouvelle-Calédonie. Elle permet de soutenir les populations vulnérables aux catastrophes et crises sanitaires, en amont (préparation), pendant (réponse d'urgence) et après (relèvement et adaptation/résilience) un évènement. La PIROPS renforce aussi les capacités des Sociétés Nationales du Pacifique et des partenaires opérationnels dans la gestion des risques et des catastrophes.
Grâce à ses plateformes d’intervention régionale (PIR), la Croix-Rouge française est présente aussi dans la région Amériques-Caraïbes avec la PIRAC basée en Guadeloupe et dans la région de l’Océan Indien avec la PIROI basée à La Réunion.
