NZKLA - New Zealand Korean Lawyers Association

The New Zealand Korean Lawyers Association (NZKLA) was initially founded in 2007, with a small but growing group of Korean lawyers in New Zealand. Over time, despite the increasing number of Korean lawyers being admitted to the bar, the association gradually faded, and by the mid-2010s, NZKLA ceased to operate.

As the legal community of New Zealand Korean lawyers continued to grow in both size and influence, many of its members achieved significant professional milestones, with several becoming partners in prestigious firms, appearing in the Court of Appeal, and holding key roles in the public sector, including as prosecutors and adjudicators.

In 2023, NZKLA was reborn as an incorporated society recognised by the New Zealand Law Society. As a voluntary association, we aim to foster and support the growth and well-being of Korean legal professionals in New Zealand.
