- Nakkas Shipping & Trading Ltd is one of the oldest Turkish shipping companies; established originally in 1860 in Mersin / Turkey by Ibrahim Nakkas.

- The core of the business in the first decades was serving several worldwide-known Owners' vessels as agents, which is still an important part of the business activities today.

- In 2002 the company moved its head office to Istanbul right in the heart of Turkish shipping and trading market, to meet the demands arising from ship management services given to the bulk carriers. Presently the company has its own branch agency offices in Mersin, Bandirma, Iskenderun, Izmir and also has sub-agents at all remaining Turkish ports.

- Nakkas Shipping & Trading Ltd is nowadays concentrated on dealing with a wide range of dry cargoes including steel, minerals, grain, coal, and project cargoes on the basis of agency, chartering, brokering and ship management for bulk carriers and chemical tankers with 63 experienced employees & specialists, through its 5 offices in major gateway cities for transit cargo to Middle-East & CIS Countries as well as inbound and outbound cargo directly to/from Turkey.
