For more than 48 years, the Morrison name has been part of Canterbury’s sales and service landscape, built on a foundation of strong customer relationships, trusted service, and community connection.

Our story began with the family business, McKenzie Saddlery and Canvas, which served customers throughout Mid-Canterbury and the wider South Island. From the beginning, the focus was simple: provide genuine customer service, create a welcoming environment, and build lasting relationships that lead to repeat and referral business. Those values continue to shape the way we operate today.

Since opening our first car yard in 2004, Morrison Motor Group has grown to four dealerships across Canterbury, representing Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Isuzu, and Renault, alongside a Certified Holden servicing and parts department in Ashburton.

Today, we’re proud to employ more than 80 staff, sell around 200 vehicles each month, and support a wide network of local businesses and customers across the region. More than 60% of our customers come through repeat business or referrals — something we see as the strongest reflection of the trust we’ve built over time.

Community involvement remains an important part of who we are. We’re proud supporters of organisations and clubs including Mainland Football, Canterbury Cricket, Lincoln Rugby, Porter Heights, the Filipino Basketball League, and many others throughout Canterbury.
