Üniversitemiz Senatosu’nun 08 Mayıs 2012 tarih ve 322-4 sayılı toplantısı kararı gereği kurulan MİTTO (Marmara Üniversitesi İnovasyon ve Teknoloji Transfer Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi) Göztepe Yerleşkesi'nde faaliyetlerini sürdürmektedir.

MİTTO'nun yönetim kademesi Rektörlük çatısı altında Müdürlük ve Yönetim Kurulu ile oluşturulmuştur.

Üniversite - Sanayi İş Birliği'nin gelişmesine destek olmak, İnovasyon politikalarımızla sanayicilerimize ileri teknoloji imkanları sunarak ulusal ve uluslararası rekabete dayalı ürünler geliştirmeleri konusunda önderlik yapmak hedeflerimizin başında gelmektedir.

Üniversite - Sanayi İş Birliği'nden Türkiye ekonomisinin rekabet edebilme yeteneğinin artırılması için Marmara Üniversitesi misyonuna uygun olarak MİTTO bu görevi üstlenmiş bulunmaktadır.
