METU Foreign Policy and International Relations Society (FPIRS)

Middle East Technical University Foreign Policy and International Relations Society (METU FPIRS) is a student society established in 1992. Our mission is to organize various events that help students interested in International Relations and related disciplines develop themselves and shape their career paths.

Our society consists of four sub-units: Konferans Takımı, Hariciye Dergisi, METUMUN, and EUROsimA. Among these sub-units, Konferans Takımı organizes conferences with experts in the field, such as academicians, diplomats, bureaucrats, international organization employees, and society alumni. Hariciye is a periodical journal that focuses on a different theme within the field of International Relations in each issue. METUMUN represents our society at Model United Nations (MUN) conferences organized by different universities, and conducts MUN training sessions for this purpose. EUROsimA, which has been held annually since 2005, organizes the prestigious European Union Simulation of the same name.

In addition to the activities of its sub-units, FPIRS hosts various events for the entire society, such as institutional trips and society dinners. The society collaborates with various government institutions, diplomatic missions, and non-governmental organizations, bringing their knowledge and networking opportunities to students through its activities.
