METU Computational Solid Mechanics Lab

The METU Computational Solid Mechanics Lab (ODTÜ Hesaplamalı Katı Cisimler Mekaniği Labı), led by Prof. Tuncay Yalçinkaya, within the Aerospace Engineering Department is dedicated to advancing computational methods and simulation techniques to tackle complex challenges in engineering material deformation, primarily focusing on metallic alloys. Our research spans various areas, including micromechanics, linear and nonlinear fracture mechanics, fatigue behavior, ductile damage and failure, and metal forming. Our objective is to develop advanced material models, finite element frameworks, and innovative methods to accurately model, understand, predict, and validate the behavior of materials and structures utilized in aerospace engineering.
