Meta Media Group (formerly Modern Media), founded in 1993, is a high-end media company with a global outlook. As one of China’s leading media groups, Meta Media spans a wide range of platforms in business, culture, art, fashion, and lifestyle. The group is home to several influential publications, including Modern Weekly, Life Magazine, and City Magazine, while also partnering with international media giants to co-publish the Chinese editions of Bloomberg Businessweek, InStyle, Numéro, IDEAT, and The Art Journal (formerly The Art Newspaper China).

In recent years, Meta Media has expanded into digital publishing, acquiring NOWNESS, the world’s premier creative video platform, in 2017. We also acquired ArtReview in 2019, a leading international contemporary art magazine, further strengthening our presence in the global art world.

Meta Media is also breaking ground in new frontiers with creative spaces like ZiWU and Meta ZiWU in the metaverse, becoming the first media group in China to operate at the intersection of publishing, digital technology, and art space.
