Mertsav Defence Systems

Mertsav Savunma Sistemleri (Mertsav Defence Systems) is a Turkish small arms manufacturer based in Istanbul, focused on the design and production of machine guns, infantry rifles, and related systems.

Mertsav began as one of the largest subcontractors to MKE, producing critical components for weapons such as the MG-3, G-3, MP-5, and HK-33, while also contributing to weapon projects for several of the world's leading firearms manufacturers. As permits for private-sector activity in the defense industry expanded, Mertsav channeled that accumulated experience into developing and producing its own product line.

Today, Mertsav manufactures a broad range of systems, including the MAR556 infantry rifle, the MMG556 light machine gun, and the MHMG127 12.7 mm heavy machine gun, alongside submachine guns, under-barrel and multishot grenade launchers, bomb disposal equipment, gas rifles, and signal pistols. With more than 200 personnel and state-of-the-art production and quality equipment, the company supplies institutions in Turkey and abroad without compromising on quality.
