Marmarabirlik

Marmarabirlik, officially known as the Union of Marmara Olive Agricultural Sales Cooperatives, was founded on June 28, 1954, as a collective initiative by local olive growers in the region. Built on the principles of solidarity and mutual support, it was established to improve the cultivation, harvesting, and marketing of high-quality olives.

The founding cooperatives were Gemlik, Mudanya, and Erdek. Over time, additional cooperatives from Orhangazi, İznik, Edincik, Mürefte, and Marmara Island joined the union. Today, Marmarabirlik operates across a vast region stretching from the shores of Lake İznik to the southern coasts of the Marmara Sea and all the way to Mürefte — bringing together eight cooperatives under one powerful organization.

With more than 30,000 grower members, Marmarabirlik stands as the largest producer of black table olives in the world.

Offering a diverse portfolio of over 300 products — including olives, olive paste, olive oil, and olive oil-based cosmetics — Marmarabirlik is a household name across nearly every retail channel in Türkiye and exports to 66 countries around the globe.
