The Mariner Space Institute (MSI) is an independent non-profit research organization dedicated to advancing the scientific frontier of lunar and planetary exploration.
MSI is the official organizational home of the ARMOR (Advanced Research in Moon Operations Resiliency) initiative. Launched in 2022, ARMOR drives our mission by bridging the gap between legacy aerospace expertise and the complex requirements of the Artemis generation.
Our Foundational Research & Partnerships:
+ ESA/ASI Science Working Group: Guiding objectives for the Lunar Meteoroid Impact Observer (LUMIO) mission.
+ Lunar Science: Collaborating with the HVIL at Texas A&M and NASA Marshall Space Flight Center on hypervelocity impact studies.
+ Scientific Investigations: Analyzing lunar meteorite samples and historic Apollo Lunar Module shielding.
+ Commercial Integration: R&D for future planetary science and industrial operations.
