LandAir Surveying Company is a nationally recognized leader in the field of Laser As-Built Survey technology and 3D Data Capture. Founded in 1988 as a traditional land surveying company, LandAir began utilizing Laser Scanning for As-Built Surveys in 2005. LandAir has provided accurate spatial information to civil engineers, plant designers, architects, contractors, forensic engineers, insurance companies, law enforcement and defense attorneys on thousands of projects across the US. From single site locations to roll-out programs with hundreds of sites, LandAir captures data in the field to produce AutoCAD drawings or 3D Revit models of existing conditions for the Retail & Restaurant, Hospitality & Gaming, Commercial, Aviation & Baggage Handling, Industrial, Healthcare, Education, Government, Historic Preservation and many other market sectors.

LandAir utilizes 3D High Definition Laser Scanning and Laser-to-BIM technology depending on the as-built environment, the desired deliverable and the specific needs of the client. Laser scanning is utilized in very complex environments, hard to reach & measure areas and projects where very precise measurements are required. Laser Scanning data is captured and registered in the form of dense comprehensive "3D point clouds". The point cloud data can then be exported into a model (or drawings) in popular software including: REVIT, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Navisworks and other BIM software.

Laser-to-BIM technology is used for less complex environments and where speed to produce drawings or a basic Revit model is crucial. This technology allows LandAir to create 3D models/drawings while the space is being measured, real-time, in the field. This increases the accuracy of the data capture, eliminates the need for return trips and greatly reduces the time back in the office drafting, modeling or performing QA/QC.
