Konya Ovası Projesi (KOP) Bölge Kalkınma İdaresi Başkanlığı; KOP Bölgesi illerinin gelişmişlik farklarının giderilmesini sağlamak, bölgenin potansiyelini harekete geçirecek plan ve programlar geliştirmek ve uygulanmasını sağlamak amacıyla 642 sayılı Kanun Hükmünde Kararname ile 2011 yılında kuruldu. Konya Karaman Aksaray ve Niğde illerini kalkındırmak amacıyla kurulan, akabinde görev sahasına bölgesel gelişmişlik ihtiyaçları göz önüne alınarak Kırıkkale, Kırşehir, Nevşehir ve Yozgat illerinin de dahil edilmesi ile toplam sekiz ile hizmet veren KOP Bölge Kalkınma İdaresi; planlı kalkınmanın saha uygulamalarını göstermek adına model üreten bir yaklaşımla faaliyetlerini yürütmektedir.
