Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction

The Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction has been advancing sustainable construction worldwide since 2003 — through the Holcim Foundation Awards, next-generation initiatives, and a recognised series of events and publications.

Since 2026, we have sharpened our focus to cities to drive greater impact in the places that need it most.

Our Vision: To influence how cities are built, renewed, and cared for — advancing integrated urban development and placemaking that creates greener, healthier, and more resilient places for growing urban populations to live and work.

Our Mission: To support citymakers as change accelerators for sustainable construction, mobilising knowledge, partnerships, and practice to translate integrated urban thinking into tangible impact where it is most urgently needed.

We continue to convene our global community of academics and design practitioners as critical agents of change, while expanding the networks that move ideas from concept to construction.

In partnership with C40 Cities through the Reinventing Cities initiative, we are connecting design ambition with city leadership, private-sector delivery, and real urban sites around the world.
