Overview
Merhum Hacı İsmail Kurt, 1935 yılında Trabzon’un Of ilçesinde doğdu. İstanbul’da geçen yaklaşık 80 yıllık ömrüne sayısız proje ve hizmet sığdırdı. Doğduğu ilçeye yaptırdığı cami ve kuran kursları ile diğer yardım kuruluşlarına yapmış olduğu hizmetlerle tanınan Kurt’un son projesi, Hacı İsmail Kurt Eğitim Vakfı ve aynı vakfa bağlı olarak kurulacak olan üniversiteydi.
Ancak 2009 yılında kurucumuz Hacı İsmail Kurt’un ani vefatıyla ortaya çıkan şartlar bu hayalin gerçekleşmesine imkân vermemiştir. Vakıf Yönetim Kurulunun yoğun gayret ve çalışmaları sonucu imkânlar ölçüsünde çeşitli üniversitelere ve eğitim kurumlarına destekler verilmeye çalışılarak bu amaca hizmet edilmesi planlanmaktadır.
