GOSB, 1986 yılında sanayiyi disipline edebilmek amacıyla kurulmuştur. Kuruluşunda Türkiye’de hiç uygulanmamış olan “sat-yap” modeli oluşturulmuştur. GOSB, “Her şeyin Devletten Beklenmemesi" ilkesiyle, kredi kullanılmadan tamamen katılımcıların finansmanı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir.
GOSB, sunduğu hizmetler ve modern alt yapısı ile gelişmiş ülkelerdeki endüstri parkları ile eş düzeydedir. Yabancı sermayenin tercih ettiği GOSB, bünyesinde teknopark ve veri merkezi kurmuş olan ilk OSB'dir.
GOSB, Türkiye'de oluşturduğu yeni nesil OSB modelini dünyanın farklı ülkelerine taşıyarak, ülkemizin marka değerini her geçen gün daha da artırmaktadır.
