Geo-Digital Knowledge Engineering Research Group (GeoKnow) is an interdisciplinary research and innovation hub that bridges the deep heritage of earth sciences with modern digital engineering disciplines. Our group focuses on more than just data collection; we specialize in transforming raw geological data into intelligent, machine-readable, and queryable knowledge structures through the power of Semantic Web technologies and Knowledge Graphs.

Our Core Competencies:

• Semantic Geosciences & Ontology Design: We develop specialized ontologies that standardize complex geological concepts, ranging from the deep history of paleontological (fossil) records to contemporary seismic dynamics. By structuring heterogeneous data—such as earthquake magnitude, acceleration, and focal depth alongside fossil taxonomies—we create a unified digital language for the earth sciences.
