Fraido is a biomedical startup developing a patented device for tracheal intubation, capable of mechanically modulating the tube diameter in situ to adapt to the patient’s anatomy, even during ventilation.

The technology reduces procedural steps, required devices, and technical complexity, with the goal of increasing first-pass success rate and reducing complications and healthcare costs.

Starting from the global endotracheal tube market, Fraido initially focuses on difficult and emergency intubations, where clinical need is highest and the current standard of care remains suboptimal.

The business model combines a reusable component (video stylet via partnerships) and a single-use consumable (the modulable tube), following a razor–blade logic.

The development path follows a clear roadmap: preclinical prototyping and mannequin/cadaver testing, industrialization with biocompatibility and mechanical testing, followed by clinical studies and Class IIb medical device certification, with an initial launch in Europe and subsequent expansion into North America.

Fraido’s mission is to transform invasive airway access procedures by providing clinicians with simpler, safer, and more standardized solutions, and giving patients a higher likelihood of favorable outcomes even in the most critical settings.
