Dirk Denison Architects

We believe in the potential for architecture to construct experience.

From its conception through construction, the potential of architecture is defined by the degree of effort that goes into its making. Our work focuses on creating meaning by embedding a distinct narrative individual to each project into the materiality of a building, a personal story that begins with a strong concept and continues through the careful process of its fulfillment. This creative process is a close inquiry into what is distinctive in the needs and desires of a project. Here is where the construction of experience begins, weaving into the building design the nuances that surface as a result of such an investigative conversation. When present, these qualities lie latent within the form and space of a building, but are ultimately intelligible for all who experience the finished product.

Dirk Denison Architects, based in Chicago, has built a wide range of residential, institutional, and commercial projects in Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Phoenix, San Francisco and New York and has been recognized by its peers and critics in awards and publications throughout the United States, Europe and Japan.
