Create Better Health Utah

Create Better Health is Utah’s connection to food security & community nutrition resources. CBHU offers a variety of classes to expand participants’ knowledge of nutrition, budgeting, cooking, food safety, and physical activity. These hands-on classes are taught by local ambassadors who are trained through the National Nutrition Certification Program, created by Create Better Health Utah and the Utah State University Nutrition, Dietetics, and Food Science faculty.

Create Better Health Utah connects program participants with the knowledge and skills they need for continued access to safe and healthy foods. Participants learn how to cook healthy meals on a budget, buy and prepare whole foods, read food labels, practice safety in the kitchen, and much more. With the overall increase in disease and obesity in the United States, particularly among individuals from low-income households, there is an obvious need for more education and prompt lifestyle changes. Create Better Health Utah is designed to increase the knowledge, skill set, and overall well-being of those it serves.

At Create Better Health Utah, we believe everyone deserves reliable access to nutritious food—and no one should have to experience hunger. Through our SNAP outreach program, we work to connect individuals and families with essential community resources that support their well-being. We are committed to developing new, innovative approaches to strengthen food security and help Utahns build healthier, more hopeful futures.
