Communities In Schools of the Dallas Region

Communities In Schools of Dallas (CIS Dallas) partners with public schools to help students overcome barriers to learning and succeed in school and beyond.

For more than 40 years, CIS Dallas has worked alongside students, families, educators, and community partners to bring critical resources directly onto school campuses. Our trained site coordinators work full time inside schools, building trusted relationships with students and identifying the academic, attendance, behavioral, mental health, and basic needs challenges that affect their success.

Our work is rooted in a simple idea: students are more likely to thrive when they have the right support, in the right place, at the right time.

CIS Dallas provides a range of services based on the needs of each campus and student. These include schoolwide activities, targeted group support, individualized case management, clinical counseling, college and career readiness, family engagement, and connections to community resources.

Through partnerships with businesses, foundations, nonprofits, faith communities, and individual supporters, we also help students access essentials such as food, clothing, hygiene products, school supplies, and other resources that help remove barriers to learning.

CIS Dallas currently partners with public schools across Dallas, Collin, Grayson, Hunt, and Kaufman counties. Our goal is to serve 50,000 students annually while continuing to expand access to school based support for students who need it most.
