Overview
Bristol Trading Society (BTS) is the University of Bristol's dedicated markets and trading society, founded in 2017 and run entirely by students.
Our analyst programme is built around four divisions — FICC, Equities, Macro and Quant — run as seven competing teams with fourteen division head positions. Selection is by competitive application: we receive 400+ applications a year for around 70 places. Analysts spend the year producing and defending research, culminating in our Annual Trading Competition, where teams pitch live instruments to judges drawn from industry.
Beyond the analyst programme, we run a selective peer mentorship scheme pairing members with spring week, internship and graduate offer experience against those breaking in; regular speaker sessions and technical workshops with industry partners; and direct recruitment access for our sponsor firms.
Members have gone on to roles at Goldman Sachs, Millennium Management, Citi, Santander CIB, Standard Chartered and Deloitte, among others.
