AREL US is the American Subsidiary of NEW AREL, an Italian manufacturer that has spent more than 55 years engineering industrial safety interlock systems under one guiding principle: Your Safety Partner.

Founded in 1965 by Tullio Frigo, AREL introduced the first modern key interlocking systems for people and plant safety in Italy in the early 1970s, and has since become a reference manufacturer of mechanical and electromechanical interlocks for the industry.

We design and build key interlock and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) solutions that safeguard people, production plants, and equipment by enforcing safe operating and maintenance sequences, removing the possibility of human error from high-risk processes. Our AREL Light Duty and AREL Heavy Duty interlocking systems, together with AREL LOTO, are trusted by companies including Alstom, ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and Fincantieri, across the energy, rail, marine, oil & gas, metallurgical, cement, and automation industries.
