Arctic GM & Sonka Resort | The Original Aurora Hunters®

Arctic GM — The Original Aurora Hunters® — brings together award-winning Arctic adventures and distinctive lakeside stays at Sonka Resort. Recognised with Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best award, we connect travellers with the landscapes, traditions and natural wonders of the North.

Our story is rooted in the Rytilahti family’s Arctic heritage, spanning 20 generations since the 1600s. With family ties to Rovaniemi, Finland, and Tromsø, Norway, we combine deep local knowledge with professional guiding, warm hospitality and a strong commitment to guest care and safety.

We operate Northern Lights tours in Rovaniemi, Levi, Tromsø and Kiruna, with options for small groups, private tours and larger groups. Our wider Arctic experiences include reindeer and husky safaris, snowmobiling, ice fishing and wilderness adventures.

Set on private lakeside grounds in Rovaniemi, our Sonka Resort offers lakeside villas and mirror houses, complemented by private saunas and hot tubs. Sonka is both a peaceful retreat in nature and a base for exploring Lapland through Arctic GM’s guided experiences.

We work with individual travellers, travel agents, tour operators and destination partners to create tailored Arctic holidays. By bringing together accommodation, activities and dedicated local support, we help our guests and partners experience the Arctic with confidence.
