Advanced Rail Systems

Advanced Rail Systems designs and delivers connected systems for rail yard operations — bringing switch machines, controls, communications, power and software together around the way your yard operates.

From a single switch installation to a fully connected rail yard, we help railroads and rail-served facilities improve their operations without disrupting the infrastructure that's already working.

Better yard performance starts with the switch — but it doesn't end there.

Switching is at the heart of every rail yard. But the controls, communications, software and integration surrounding the switch must work together to reduce complexity, improve visibility and keep crews moving safely.

Our foundation is the YM-16 automatic yard switch machine, with more than 3,500 Advanced Rail Systems switch machines installed worldwide. Since 2015, we've expanded that foundation with control systems, communication equipment, power solutions, indication and detection, programmable processors, yard control software and integration capabilities.

The result is a connected approach to rail yard operations. We can help customers start with one switch, connect existing equipment or build a larger yard system — preserving existing infrastructure wherever practical and creating a path to add capability as operational needs grow.

Advanced Rail Systems serves Class I railroads, short lines and regional railroads, ports and intermodal terminals, and industrial and rail-served facilities.
