The World Electronic (E) Press Council Association started its activities as a Non-Governmental Organization under the management of the Founding President, Journalist and Writer Hasan Taşkın, with the decree numbered 2014-6743 dated 11.09.2014 of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Turkey and the approval of the President.

The Union's management includes journalists, social media experts, communicators and telecommunications experts.

On the one hand, electronic media freedom is exceeding the limits and anyone who wants to can do e-journalism, on the other hand, there is a need for a self-control mechanism under the roof of civil society in this field. Education is important in this field.

DEBK aims to undertake the task of ensuring this self-control and defends the right of citizens to freely obtain information within the framework of correct and ethical rules.

DEBK set out to establish independent bodies such as the Free Independent Electronic and Digital Media Councils and Ombudsman institutions, as one of the methods to ensure the protection and development of issues such as freedom, responsibility and accountability.

DEBK aimed to undertake a mission in creating the perception that free electronic media is accountable to the public.

DEBK aims to develop titles by taking an active role in creating reliable sites among news sites and aims to carry out studies that will encourage internet news sites to comply with the rules of the "World E-Press Professional Principles". Such as A Class news site, B Class News site, C Class News site... Or, it will create the infrastructure to carry out the study that will expose publications that are against the World E-Press Professional Principles as unreliable sites.

One of the most important goals of DEBK is to raise the level of education, conferences, academic publications, doctoral dissertations, promotional films and the internet and social media field.
