Turkey's Single Largest Cement Plant

Nuh Çimento Sanayi A.S. (www.nuhcimento.com.tr) is the owner and the operator of the single largest cement plant across Turkey and Europe.

Nuh Çimento established in 1966. The largest shareholder (44 percent) is an investment company called Nuh Ticaret and a further 16 percent is held by Partas Tekstil, while 10 percent has been issued on the Istanbul Stock Exchange [NUHCM:TI].

The huge plant has an annual production capacity of 4.4 million tonnes of clinker and six million tonnes of cement. Clinker, the product of kilned limestone, is sold to other manufacturers, both domestically and internationally who grind it at their cement plants; Portland cement is also exported by sea, mainly to southern Europe, Africa and the countries around the Black Sea. Domestically the largest customer is Nuh Çimento’s own ready-mix concrete division, which supplied 4.5 million cubic metres of concrete last year to contractors.
