Green Sharm El-Sheikh Project, Egypt

The Green Sharm El-Sheikh project is a 6-year project that was developed to support the City of Sharm El-Sheikh to become one of the first Green Tourist Destinations and Sustainable Cities in Egypt and the Arab region, ensuring a holistic approach to be applied to various ‘greening’ components to become a model integrated and ecologically sustainable tourism city of national and international importance through the adoption of further low-carbon technologies, proactive waste prevention and management practices and a further-enhanced protection of its natural capital basis.

This project is to be implemented by the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the South Sinai Governorate and funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

يتم تنفيذ هذا المشروع بواسطة جهاز شؤون البيئة المصري(EEAA) وبرنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي (UNDP) بالشراكة مع محافظة جنوب سيناء بتمويل من مرفق البيئة العالمية (GEF).
