Flanker UAV is an autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) engineering team based at Yıldız Technical University, developing the DragonFly fighter UAV platform.

Founded in 2025 and built on competitive aerospace engineering experience dating back to 2019, our team designs, fabricates, and flight-validates high-performance autonomous aerial systems for demanding operational envelopes.

Core Subsystems & Technical Competencies:

• Mechanical: Aerodynamic design, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), CAD/CAM surface modeling (SolidWorks), composite manufacturing, structural additive manufacturing, and airframe optimization for high-G tactical maneuvers.

• Avionic and Propulsion: Custom power distribution board (PDB), EMI/EMC shielding, wiring harness reliability, long-range telemetry and RF datalinks, brushless motor and ESC calibration, dynamic thrust stand testing, and power architecture validation.

• Software and Control: Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC), autonomous flight controllers (ArduPilot/PX4), mission logic, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation, ROS 2 integration, and real-time computer vision target tracking (YOLO, C++, Python).

Operational Platform:

- The DragonFly, a twin-motor, composite fixed-wing autonomous UAV engineered for tactical agility, telemetry link reliability, and automated combat mission execution.
